Colombo
City Tour
It is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. All major economic
activities are centered on the city it self. Places of interest
include century- old Clock Tower, British Colonial buildings,
the old Parliament in Fort, Galle Face Green and Buddhist
& Hindu Temples, St.Lucia’s Cathedral, Dutch reformed
Church at Wolfendhall, The Bandaranayake Memorial International

Galle / Hikkaduwa day Tour
Galle
: The Southern capital of Sri Lanka is a
world heritage site. Here at this paradise of unlimited
sun, sea, sand, and surf all year round the places of interest
are Galle fort, Dutch Museum, Handicraft factories.
Hikkaduwa :
The world famous Coral Reef will make you relax while watching
from a glass bottom boat. High concentration of coral fishes
as parrot fish, Angel fish, Butterfly fish, Star fish etc.

Ratnapura. Day Tour
From Colombo a drive about 100 km, through
every shade and tone of rich green and yellow green of rubber
plantations, paddy fields and tea estates to reach Ratnapura-the
Sri Lanka’s City of Gems is captivating.
Throughout history, Sri Lanka has been known as a land of
gems. King Solomon was said to have procured a great ruby
for the queen of Sheba from Ceylon (Sri Lanka’s former
name). Macro polo (1293 AD) wrote about the ruby that once
graced the Ruwanweliseya Dagoba at Anuradhapura.
Ratnapura is the most famous gem-mining locality in Sri
Lanka. At the Ratnapura Gem Bureau and Museum or in many
other gem workshops in Ratnapura, one can get the rare opportunity
to see a variety of precious stones such as Rubies, Sapphires,
Cat’s eyes, Alexandrites, Aquamarines, Tourmalines,
Spinels, Topaz, Garnets, Amethyst, Zircons etc. and also
the traditional ways of cutting and polishing gem stones.
Kandy / Pinnawala. Day Tour
Kandy is the famous city of Sinhala history,
culture, religion, and pageantry. The Kandyan Kingdom was
the last independent state in Sri Lanka It withstood the
onslaught of three invading European armies for over two
centuries. Kandy can be explored on foot, with the higher
altitude making the climate conducive to long walks. The
city is visually rich with its narrow streets lined with
character-full old buildings and crowded with people. The
Kandy Lake provides an attractive focal point to the town.
On your city tour you will visit the Temple of the Tooth
Relic, scenic Upper Lake Drive, Gem Museum and Factory,
Art and Crafts Center, Royal Botanical Gardens, University
Complex etc.
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is located on the banks of
the Maha Oya. Most of the elephants in the orphanage are
raised to maturity after being found abandoned or injured
in the country’s jungles. It is interesting to visit
at the feeding and bathing time.
Anuradhapura / Polonnaruwa
/ Sigiriya & Dambulla. (03 day Tour)
Anuradhapura:
The first capital of Sri Lanka for more than 1000 years
from the 5th century BC. Places of interest are Thuparama,
Ruins of Brazen Palace, Jetawanaramaya, Moonstone, Abhayagiri,
Samadhi Buddha Statue, Twin Ponds, Lovers of Isurumuniya,
The Rock Temple of the Isurumuniya, Sacred Bo Tree which
is the oldest historically documented tree on the earth.
Polonnaruwa
: The medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th Century
AD. Even during the Anuradhapura era, this was an important
city because it strategically commanded all the crossings
over the Mahaweli River and acted as a buffer against the
invading armies. Places of interest includes the Parakramabahu
Statue, Quadrangle, Thuparama Image House, Gal Vihara (Rock
Temple) Lankathilake Image House, The 12th Century Lotus
Bath etc.
Sigiriya :
The Kingdom of King Kasyapa who reigned between 477-495
AD.
The summit of this almost inaccessible rock is 180 m (600
ft) above the surrounding jungle and was the setting for
a courtly paradise of elegant pavilions amid gardens and
pools. The rock was transformed into a recumbent lion by
the addition of brick-built head and foreparts of which
only the paws remain. Broad moats and stone perimeter walls
augmented the rock’s natural defenses. In the event
of an enemy aproch, the outer moats were built to flood
the entire area between the two moats.
Dambulla :
Dates back to 1st Century BC; this is the most impressive
cave temple in Sri Lanka. It has five caves under a vast
overhanging rock, carved with a drip line to keep the interiors
dry. In 1938 the architecture was embellished with arched
colonnades and gabled entrances. Inside the caves, the ceilings
are painted with intricate patterns of religious images
following the contours of the rock. There are images of
the Lord Buddha and bodhisattvas, as well as various gods
and goddesses.

After visiting Pinnawala
Kandy, next day proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya
: The heart of Srilankan Hill Country, Nuwara Eliya is renowned
as “Little England”. The beauty of Nuwara Eliya
is breathtaking. The early British settler favoured its
mountainous landscape, cascading waterfalls and sleepy towns
nestling into mountainside. The abundant rainfall, sunshine,
cold nights and mists provide the perfect climate for growing
tea. As you climb higher the air grows cooler and the clouds
get closer. This is one of the best holiday resorts with
the most picturesque golf course in Asia. It is a resort
site and there are many attractions such as Golf, Tennis,
and Horse-back riding etc.

Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, the centre of hill country,

for Yala National Park. Overnight in Katharagama.
